Light therapy

Light therapy

Light therapy as a causal treatment for meibomian gland dysfunction.

As a rule, 4-6 treatments are useful, each 7-10 days apart.

One session with the three components listed below takes about 30 minutes.

HHUF3262

OPE®

A polychromatic light that uses thermal impulses to stimulate the so-called meibomian glands to resume normal activity. Applied to the eye area and cheekbones, it stimulates contraction of the glands by increasing lipid flow and reducing tear evaporation.

LPYI9442

Light Modulation®

Photobiomodulation (PBM) technology has been used for many years in various fields of medicine (dermatology, dentistry, etc.). The emission of a special light at a specific wavelength triggers endogenous heating of the eyelids. This treatment facilitates the outflow of the oily component of the tear film - from the meibomian glands - and stabilizes the lipid layer of the tears.

Mechanical massaging out

Finally, the eyelid marginal glands are well emptied once again by mechanical massaging. The massage gives us the opportunity to remove the thickened secretion that clogs the excretory ducts.
