Treatment of eyelid edge inflammation- eyelid edge care

Do you have chronic inflammation of the eyelids, especially your eyelid edges?

With this so-called blepharitis, there is no danger to your eyesight, but it causes recurrent burning, itching and sticky eyes. The most common cause is an infection with staphylococci. Eyelid rim inflammation caused by staphylococci is chronic in many cases. If the immune system is weakened, recurrent infections with the staphylococci can occur, as they constantly colonize the skin. Staphylococci produce various substances, such as enzymes and toxins, which can lead to inflammatory reactions in the eye and disturbances of the tear film. As a result, the sebum in the glands at the edge of the eyelid becomes more viscous and is more difficult to drain.
